This album claims my own "Street of Dreams", which includes loving relationships, spiritual empowerment and creating a more just world.
I also ventured (with a little fear and trepidation) into composing original tunes. I wrote Throwing Stones in response to divisions and conflict. Rise Up and Shine was inspired by Isaiah 60 during a retreat.
I also collaborated with Rogers Grant to write lyrics to his beautiful instrumental song Miedo. The lyrics of Will You Dance? tell the story of meeting my husband and our life together. I fell in love with Journey With Me years ago when recording a demo for a musical composed by my friend Dr. Scott Sheperd.
Roger Hines arranged the fiery Open Your Eyes, You Can Fly, a Chick Corea tune, and the cool Come Fly With Me. Richard Lopez created a wonderful and unique arrangement of When You Wish Upon a Star. Dave Wheeler, a legendary swinging big band arranger, worked up Street of Dreams, When I Grow Too Old to Dream, and A Kiss to Build a Dream On.
Listen to clips of the tunes.
